Colón llamó a aquellos frutos “pimientos”.

English

The "pepper", "chili" or "chili" is one of the most popular and internationally successful American products. It is part not only of gastronomy, but also of the entire culture of the continent.

During his voyages in search of trade routes, the Genoese navigator Christopher Columbus found fruits in the Caribbean that seemed similar to the coveted pepper, already known in Europe at that time. Columbus called those fruits "peppers." After its return to Europe in 1493, the plant reached Spain. It soon adapted easily to the Iberian and Italian lands, where it is known as "Penecinino". Thus, the coveted pepper lost its power and value. A "New World" plant was competing.

Records more than six thousand years old allow us to find chili peppers in different countries of the American territory. It is born in colors such as red, yellow, purple or orange. It grows in temperatures from 20 degrees Celsius and adapts easily to any environment.
